Marie de Beauregard Chinon is selected from two producers who reserve the production of several of their best plots of Cabernet Franc every year for Saget La Perrière. Bruno Mineur, our winemaker, selects the best of the estate grown grapes for blending and maturing. The name “Marie de Beauregard” is homage to the first owner’s wife of the water mill where we age the wine.

Stretching from one side of the country to the other, the river of kings has been the homeland of our family for nine generations. Originally from Pouilly-sur-Loire, we decided over twenty years ago to head off in search of other treasures that our beautiful wine region could offer. over the years, our quest led us along both banks of the river, reaching out to local winegrowers and terroirs.

Varietal Composition

100% Cabernet Franc


Grapes are mechanically harvested in September and very carefully sorted so as to avoid any vegetal trace. Before being put in the vat, the grapes are de-stalked and crushed. A five day pre-fermented maceration enables a slow abstraction of the phenolic compounds. A regulated vinification with a maximal 82°F peak and minimal mechanical intervention enables the extraction of very silky tannins.

The wine is barrel aged for 9 months.

Tasting Notes

Marie de Beauregard Chinon is garnet red with ruby highlights and a lovely intensity of color. On the nose, the wine has aromas of coffee and sweet pepper with a hint of camphor mixed with vanilla. On the palate, aromas of undergrowth mixed with musk and blueberry. Solid structure with silky smooth tannins.
