Acquired from the Old Town Company, Domaine Rollan de By, a leader of the Crus Bourgeois, is one of the most significant properties in the Médoc region. This is due in part to the 200 hectares and exceptional terroir located around the area of By. Domaines Rollan de By balances, respecting the local environment while also embracing modern technologies that further enhance these exceptional wines.
Château Haut Condissas of Château Rollan de By, is a special prestige reserve of the best parcels. The vineyard is 37 acres on a clayeylimestone hilltop terroir, the vines are 40 years old with an average density of 10,000 vines per acre.

60% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc

Vintage Notes

Harvest occurred from October 3 – October 13, 2009 with yields of 40 hl/ha.


Grapes are handpicked, collected in small crates and sorted manually in the cellar. Cold pre-fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, long maceration between 3 and 4 weeks at 82°F in new oak barrels on fine lees. Followed by malolactic fermentation and lees stirring in 100% new oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

Château Haut Condissas possesses terrific concentration, perfect balance, and lots of black currant and blueberry fruit intermixed with forrest floor, incense, and cedar wood. Viscous, rich, full-bodied flavors with abundant glycerin as well as fine elegance and purity reflect a top-notch effort. Pairs well with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, pasta, and cheese.
